This morning, Ubisoft tweeted that the rumors about Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag were, in fact, real, and that they would be officially presenting details about the game on March 4th. All that's known is that the game takes place in the era of pirates and features yet another new Assassin.

Square-Enix has teased over Twitter that Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMix will, in fact, be coming to America on the PS3 in Fall of 2013. The title will be hitting Europe around the same time, as well. The compilation features the original and Final Mix versions of the Kingdom Hearts game, as well as Re:Chain of Memories, all boosted up into current-gen graphics, resolutions, and gameplay mechanics. Remastered cutscenes from one of the DS titles, 358/2, will be included, spanning over 2 hours long in one bigass theater mode.

UPDATE: Directly after the stream, @PlayStation plugged the release date of the PS4 (Holiday 2013).

While I honestly don't think a new console in the market was at all necessary, the stuff being talked about right now is pretty cool. Sony has just unvieled their next home gaming system, the PlayStation 4 (betcha a 3-year-old could've guessed that one).

The system will feature a whopping 8GB of RAM, which will allow you to pause a game, do something else with the console like surf the internet, and hop right back into your game, completely unninterupted. Digital games will download in the background, even as you play the game you're currently downloading. A share button on the new Dualshock 4 controller will allow you to share videos (and I'll assume screenshots as well) to your friends. Said controller has the same basic layout as previous consoles, but features a touchpad on the front and back, similar to the PlayStation Vita. Speaking of the Vita, PS4 games will be able to be played completely on the Vita in a similar fashion to the Wii U and its GamePad's off-screen play function. Supposedly, every PS4 game ever made will be able to stream onto a PS Vita through a shared WiFi network. Livestreaming games to Ustream will be built into the console as well, so no more extra cables and programs required to capture footage. However, PlayStation 3 games will not be able to be played on the PlayStation 4 (in Layman's terms, no backwards compatibility). A feature titled "Cloud Gaming" will apparently allow direct streaming of PS3, 2, and X games, but seems to require an entire rebuy of the game you want to play, and we all know streaming games isn't nearly as smooth as direct play from a disc. The PS3's PlayStation Move peripheral will be compatible with the PS4 and a 3D sculpting program will utilize it. Release date and price was not mentioned for the system.

As I'm not an owner of any Sony systems (save for an old PSX with no good games on it), I won't be covering the games in-depth talked about in the announcment stream. Instead, I will simply list the titles below and you can search up individual articles elsewhere.
  • Killzone: Shadow Fall
  • Driveclub
  • inFAMOUS: Second Son
  • The Witness
  • Deep Down
  • Final Fantasy (Tentative title; more info to come at E3)
  • Watch Dogs
  • Diablo III (Also being released to PS3)
  • Destiny (Also being released to PS3)
Are you hooked? Are you going to buy this new console when it launches? If not, why? Voice yourself in the comments below.

Harmonix' Rock Band series has received a new set of songs every week since it was first released, eventually stacking up over 4,000 songs from various artists. However, the brains behind the addictive music game have stated that April 2nd, 2013 will be the last day that the game will get DLC packs. No new songs will be added after this date. At least it's not as extreme as the cancellation of the entire music store in the iOS version of Rock Band; you will still be able to purchase the songs that have already been added to the library.

As sort of an apology and appreciation letter to those who shared the devs' outrage over the delay of Rayman Legends, they have begun work on, not a demo, but a whole portion of the game that will be exclusive to the Wii U. Rayman Legends' Challenge Mode will be available sometime in April as a complete free download off of the eShop and will allow you to play daily and weekly challenge levels with up to 5 local players. Leaderboards and ghosts will test you to try every challenge level over and over again to get the best score possible before the level is removed and replaced. Check out the video here to see more.

The first block of information regarding Bungie's new game, Destiny, was revealed today. It's sort of a massive amount of info, but I'll try to sum it up: it's Halo MMO edition. You play as various classes in a massive world that you're always connected to; you'll be able to connect to the Destiny community with your smartphones and computers when you're not on your console. As for the setting, it's quite clear that it draws inspiration from Halo and the character you play as is apparently destined to save humanity altogether. Check out the first trailer reveal below and see for yourself.
