The first map pack for Halo 4 is now up for download, titled the Crimson Map Pack. It will cost you 800 Microsoft Points and includes the maps Harvest, Shatter, and Wreckage. You can also buy the War Games Map Pack for 2000 MS Points, which will grant you the Crimson Map Pack and two packs to be released at a later date, all at a discounted price compared to being bought seperately. Owners of the Special Edition of Halo 4 can pick up this map pack for free, as they get the whole War Games Map Pack as part of their bundle.

So after the Pokédex I used on my iPhone was so rudely kicked off the App Store, Nintendo decided to cash in and make their own app. Introducing Pokédex iOS: essentially the Pokédex 3D Pro, but on iOS. Obviously.

Now, the concept is great, but the price...not so much. It turns me WAY off from this thing. First off, the app itself is $1.99, which seems weird considering I can just use Serebii for free. I would be fine with a $2 pay, though, if it weren't for the fact that you have to pay extra for more Pokémon to be added to the Pokédex. Each pack of Pokémon (split up by generation) costs an extra $4.99. Nintendo, don't pull a Skylanders here. Not cool.

If you want to spend a total of $26 on this thing, be my guest. Not my money.

And so, the year 2012 is finally dwindling to a close. Like the previous year, we had plenty of great games released this year, ranging from Paper Mario: Sticker Star on the 3DS to Halo 4 on the Xbox 360. Now, as you all know, I like to do things a bit differently from everybody else, so while IGN, GameSpot, and the like are doing reader's and editor's choice awards, I'd rather do something that isn't so subjective.

Enter: Your Year In Gaming!

Email me some small stories about your favorite moments in gaming this year, a small testimony on a game you hated or loved, or your opinions on the Wii U! I'd like for all you readers out there to spread the word and get as many people involved in this. I want to have a large article by the end of the year filled with small snippets written by you guys! No awards, no ratings, no reviews; just us gamers doing what we do best: ranting and praising like raging fanboys/girls! (Email address is [email protected].)

There are some particular games that came out this year that I'd love to have your opinions on. I'll list them below, but if you have any other games you played this year that you liked, please write about them to! No restrictions other than the game had to have come out this year.

Here are the main games I'd like to be able to focus on:

New Super Mario Bros. 2
New Super Mario Bros. U
Paper Mario: Sticker Star
Kirby's Return to Dreamland
Pokémon Black 2 & White 2
Scribblenauts: Unlimited
Nintendo Land
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
Assassin's Creed III
ZombiU
Far Cry 3
Resident Evil 6
Halo 4
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
The Walking Dead: The Game

And that's only the tip of the iceberg. Plenty of other retail and digital games came out this year, and I want to know what you thought of them. The more you have to say, the better!

Make sure to give me a name to credit your testimony to, and, if you have one, your Twitter handle. If you wish to remain anonymous, please let me know and I'll respect that.

Hop to it, gamers! I'll get to work on an original article myself. I have some things I want to say about my own personal year of gaming!

Okay, now THIS is a first, and an awesome one at that. Imagine playing a classic 8-bit Mega Man game, when suddenly, RYU FROM STREET FIGHTER AS A BOSS. ...well, okay, so premises like this have existed on the Internet since the dawn of time, but this is slightly different.

Instead of putting in effort to make games celebrating Mega Man and Street Fighter's 25th anniversaries, Capcom decided to take one guy's fangame, appropriately titled Mega Man X Street Fighter, and market it as an official anniversary game. Now, I'm not too pleased with the fact that they took the lazy way out and labeled an already-completed fangame as official, but the release trailer sure as hell makes me believe that the game will be fun.

Here's the best part: it's completely free.

This isn't a console title, however; it's a PC download game, which is, to me, disappointing. But if this all goes well, maybe we'll see a port to consoles eventually. Keep your eyes peeled. The game will be up for download on December 17th.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn't too hyped for BioShock Infinite to begin with. Now, I've lost all interest. Infinite has now been pushed back further to a March 26th release.

If you're in the US and you haven't bought Pokémon Black 2 or White 2 yet, now would be a good time. The serial code that comes with the newer copies of the game can be redeemed on the Pokémon Global Link to obtain one of three of the starter Pokémon from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum to use in your journey, each with their Hidden Ability (Turtwig with Shell Armor, Chimchar with Iron Fist, or Piplup with Defiant). You don't, however, get to choose which one you get; it's completely random. Keep in mind that the serial codes are only packaged with copies of B2&W2 that come from Wal-Mart.

Scribblenauts Unlimited has been on the retail market for some time on 3DS and Wii U, but the title is just now being put up on the 3DS eShop as a full digital download. It should cost the same as a physical copy.

For being a game that wasn't originally released in America, we sure are getting a lot of re-releases of it. Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels is coming to the North American 3DS Virtual Console on December 27th, according to some ads in the eShop. Some Nintendo eShop credit would be a good stocking stuffer in this case.
