When you purchase a Wii U game or downloadable content through the Wii U eShop, you will get 10% of your purchase back in points, which can then be exchanged for eShop Credit to buy more content. For every 500 points you earn, you can get $5 back in eShop Credit. You can earn the points as you buy the content; the promo launches the same day as the Wii U is released.
The promotion doesn't last forever, though. Apparently you will only earn points back from release date until November 2014, and the points can only be redeemed until March 2015.
Keep in mind this is only available for those who purchase the Wii U Deluxe Set; the promotion will not work on Wii U Basic Sets.
